If a character prays to their deity within a post, there is a chance that the prayer may be granted within the game. Deities are played by a general NPC account which staff has access to, and any staff member may respond as the deity.
Types of Deities
Players are free to create and submit their own deity, be it a god or a pantheon. It can be as powerful or as weak as they like, since inevitably it will be staff that decides what the entity can or can't do within a game.
Beliefs
The cultures of the world come with a variety of beliefs and religions. There is no one known method to species and world creation. Just like our own Earth, creationism vs. evolution is debated. One theory can say that magical evolution occurred to primates back in the day, thus creating elves and dwarves and everything else humanoid that could have branched off from humans. The other extreme could say that magic itself created everything. Every religion can have its own theory for how everything came to be; there is no collectively known fact, only various theories based on science and/or religion.
Because Verre Zon is such a high-migration area there is no one religion that has taken control over the others...yet.
Creation of a deity
Within this setting, gods are created through belief. If a character or culture creates a god which they then worship or cause others to worship, the god is born from this worship.
Higher beings beyond gods?
Angels exist and are older than any god, since gods are created from beliefs and angels were pre-existing. How does this apply to creation discrepancies, then? For example, if I create Bob the god and say he created the world, but angels have been around longer, how do I justify the fact that Bob wasn't actually around when the world was created?
Answer: the god believes and acts upon what the believers believe. If you ask a god how it created the world, its answer will be the same as the believers of the religion believe.
Prayer Approval
Prayers must be seen within the player's post. If the player wants it granted they need to submit their request for approval by PM to one or more of the staff members. Staff will decide as a group whether it shall be granted or not.
How often prayers are granted depends on what they are and what staff decides, though the general trend will be rarely.
As a sidenote: gods have no power in dead zone regions.
